To reaffirm something that is already in existence is a strange move, specifically when it appears that the reaffirmation of one people is at the expense of another. This begs the question, do the people of Congress believe that the Palestinian people have a right to exist? Based on the death toll in Gaza, it appears that the United States has aligned itself with the genocide of Palestinians. I can’t read this resolution in any other way. This resolution also ignores the history of the region, and what happened in the years after the end of WW 2.
That said, I’d love to see Resolution 889 reaffirming the right of the existence of the Palestinian People. They have a right to live without fear of extinction.
