To prove to Mom that I am not a fool!

So I’ve got some news. Over the past few months, I have been exploring the possibility of returning to school to receive a Masters’s Degree in Strategic Human Resources with a concentration in HR Operations. Well, a couple of weeks ago, I applied and found out yesterday that I got in!

Holy Shit, I am excited, nervous, and looking forward to this new adventure. I will attend the University of Denver for 3 years and truly want to do well. I hope you are all excited to start this journey with me. Here is how I am preparing.

The first thing I did when I applied was purchase a planner. I was one of those people attached to her planner in both HS and College.

The second thing I am doing is pulling back from other responsibilities to ensure I have enough time to dedicate to my studies.

The last thing I did was I bought a sweatshirt and pants from the school.

If you are anything like me, going back to school after graduating from undergrad 19 years ago, do it. I will get the knowledge and build my network of HR professionals. I have a theory about inclusion and its relation to technology, and I can’t wait to start exploring those ideas in a formal academic environment. I start in January of 2024, and goodness, what a journey this will be!
