In June, I read 15 books—a bit of a decline from my normal reading volume. If you keep track, I have completed 70% (77 of 110) of my 2023 reading goal. I have had a fun month of reading. Here are some of my favorites.

Thirteen by Steve Cavanaugh had me obsessed with it. This book was so surprising, and so compelling! I loved the premise, all of the twists, and I was rooting for Eddie the entire time. This was the first book that I read in the Eddie Flynn series, and now I am trying to decide if I want to go back and read the preceding books. That said, if you like a twisty mystery, and a serial killer drama, check this book out immediately!

Bound by Love by Brenda K. Davies is the last book in The Alliance Series, I have been reading these books since the first series, Vampire Awakenings which was the first series where I read anything remotely spicy. Brenda does a great job keeping the tension high, and she definitely ended this series with a bang. The vampires in this world are fascinating, and I have loved the journey Brenda took us on to build the world of the alliance. I recommend both of these series!

Cinder Ella by S.T. Lynn was a great twist of the Cinderella story, Cinder in this story is trans. This isn’t the first book I’ve red with a trans MC, but I loved reading Cinder’s story. I would recommend checking this book out if you are looking see things through the eyes of another.

After the recent BookTok controversy, I had to read this book to understand why hockey players were so sought after. Pucking Around by Emily Rath is almost 700 pages of smut, love, and hockey. I love the golden retriever energy of Jake, and the dominant nature of Caleb. I aspire to be in a poly relationship that is as balanced as this one. Maybe one day!

Twisted Love by Ana Huang is the perfect grumpy/ sunshine romance that I needed to get me through the month of July. Whenever I read these types of romances I always wonder if I would be the grumpy one of the sunshine person. Honestly, it really depends on the day. Today, 8/5, I am more sunshine.

Dirty Little Secret by Kendall Ryan is so much fun. Mostly because I totally see myself doing what Emma did. All said, this book is fantastic, and if you like the slow burn to flaming hot spiciness, this is for you! I also recommend the books that were written after this one.

Solid Ground by Kelsey Soliz is book six in the Territory Walk series. I adore these books, and Rory’s harem, however, I do not think that this series needed to be this long… I am very excited for the last book to be released….
So, what did you read in July?
