In June, I read 9 books—a bit of a decline from my normal reading volume. If you keep track, I have completed 56% (62 of 110) of my 2023 reading goal. I have had a fun month of reading. Here are some of my favorites.

It is ridiculous that I did not know about this book until June. The Marriage Act by John Marrs is a part of the world detailed in his Novel The One, Minders, and Passengers. Each time I read a book by John Marrs, I fear the depravity and the twists and turns that I will see, but I am never disappointed. The Marriage Act gives you a peek into a different type of hierarchy that can be created in society. I loved it!
Stephen King is the king of deep character-building and expert storytelling. Fairy Tale is a wonderfully inspiring story of an unlikely friendship, perseverance, and a mythical land. In this book, Stephen King paints such a vivid world that it is hard to forget the boyish Charlie and the grumpy Mr. Bowditch. There is also a dog who is so easy to fall in love with.

This is the first book by Shantel Tessier that I have ever read, I loved every minute of The Ritual. It is definitely a dark college romance, with the feel of a spy novel. This book is well written. However, I couldn’t get into the second book. I loved Ryat, and I found it easy to understand his motivations. I also really enjoy secret societies, because the probably exist, right? This book was very sexy, and I loved the extra spice. It’s right up my alley!
Yo, Kelsey Soliz, I ADORE you. However, can we stop with the cliffhangers? Solid Ground is book six in the Territory Walk Series. I love reading about Rory’s journey and watching her fall in love with each of her fated mates. I can’t imagine having ten mates, but I would not turn down this group of men. Thank you for such a beautiful world… Even though you keep leaving us hanging. Like, how is Donny a… You know what? Never Mind!

And last but certainly not least, Stolen Trophy by K.A. Knight and Kendra Moreno was all the spicy greatness I needed. This book was sexy and full of protective men who loved their trophy deeply. I want that kind of love again.
