Holy balls, if you thought yesterday was packed, you were mistaken. I took 8K fewer steps today, but I am still exhausted.
This is going to be a long post, so buckle the fuck up and grab a coffee. I fly out at 6:30 am and am unsure how to do it; I mean, I am not a pilot, so I will not fly. So I must pack, arrive at the airport by 4:00 am like a psychotic person, and pray that this itch in my throat is just from drinking only Coke and coffee all day.
Today started at the Golden Egg.

This place is across the street from my hotel, and I should have gone here on day one. It was so fucking cute. Two men ran it, and it was empty. Though, I am a very early breakfast person. I was going to go to Tim Hortons and have something mediocre, but I wanted something substantial because I knew I would be out all day. I ordered a hazelnut coffee, and the man at the counter freshly brewed me some coffee as I waited. I also ordered the smoked salmon eggs benedict, which was perfect, like 100 out of 5 stars.
Now, the potatoes deserve admiration. They were crispy on the outside, seasoned well, and soft on the inside. They were not too large, so it didn’t feel like you were eating mashed potato. I need to figure out how to cook home fries like this. They weren’t greasy, goodness. They were one of the best things that I ate today.

Do you know what Ice Wine is? Well, I heard of it for the first time today. Ice wine (or ice wine; German: Eiswein) is a type of dessert wine produced from grapes that have been frozen while still on the vine. This wine was lovely, sweet, and light in the body. The other two wines were a riesling and a red blend; both were delicious but not something I would drink regularly. I did pick up a few souvenirs for both of my partners, stuff that I know they would enjoy. They are both pretty practical, so snacks are the only thing that makes sense for them. Though for me, give me a squish mallow, a bell, and maple syrup any day.

This is the only bad food that I have had on this trip. Let me tell you a story about Table Rock House Restaurant. I booked a tour last month to view Niagara Falls through a tour company; more on that later, and one company offered lunch. Now, I am someone who needs to make sure that they have food regularly throughout the day; this tour was 9 hours long. I didn’t want to risk not having food. This girl likes to eat. I thought this would be the safest bet and the best way to ensure I wasn’t spending extra money on food. We all take a seat at Table Rock House Restaurant, and you don’t get an option for the menu because it is already determined. Generally, I like restaurants like this because they can get good at a few things. Let’s start with the tomato soup; the girl sitting across from me (another person from the tour bus) had never had tomato soup before. I was excited because it is difficult to make tomato soup incorrectly. Somehow, this tomato soup tasted like warm marinara. It was supposed to be a creamy tomato basil, but it was almost like dominos pizza sauce, which has more flavor if I am being 100% honest. The second course was the best. It was mushroom ravioli with a pesto sauce; now, the weird thing was that it was more of an alfredo sauce. The broccoli and carrots didn’t have any seasoning, so I added salt and pepper. The last course was a peach and pear cobbler. Which was cold; also, the topping didn’t have any flavor. Some cinnamon, ginger, and caramel could have gone a long way. I would never recommend this restaurant. Don’t worry, the day got better!

The falls were beautiful and bustling, but people were respectful and took pictures of people when they asked. I think it was the Canadian spirit rubbing off on everyone. Can we talk about how good my skin looks?

You can “Journey Behind The Falls,” and you are walking below and behind Niagara Falls. The entire time I was talking to myself, saying, you probably won’t get crushed to death if this tunnel collapses under the weight of this water.” I made it out without having a full-blown panic attack.

Maple Syrup should not be drunk this way. I get the concept behind doing a maple syrup taste test, but it wasn’t for me. They were great, but I walked away with a bit of a headache. I am happy we stopped here, as I was able to find my bell for this trip.

Our last stop was at Niagara on the Lake; this town is an ancient tourist trap. It is a 19th-century village that gives off major population 439 vibes. Some towns feel good and wholesome, but this town made me nervous, like they have some deep secret they are all aware of. All that said, I found this amazing Eastern European bakery, and I got this Nutella Walnut Chimney. It was freshly made light and crispy dough with Nutella and walnuts inside and cinnamon sugar on the outside. It was still warm, and I ate it like I hadn’t eaten all day. It was the perfect treat to end my trip with.

If you got down this far, thanks for reading. Sending you love and light.
