I read/ listened to 8 books in January. Here are my favorites! I am going to try and get better at being more consistent about at least logging my books for the year, but I am not sure how successful I will be.

Books are listed in order of recommendation.

I LOVED this book. I listened to this via audible. You will like this book if you enjoy a good FBI, SK mystery. I won’t spoil this, but several twists and turns surprised me. I’m excited to check out the next book in the series. Sometimes I have trouble with male authors who write books with a woman as a central character. Victor Methos does a great job keeping me engaged with Yeardly’s story. A Killers Wife is the perfect read for a cold night in.

I am a lover of reverse harems. Finding a series that makes me feel like I am discovering a new world is rare. The world of the Agathos and Daimon is complex and full of sexual tension and goodness. I was even more excited by the diversity of this book. Colette Rhodes wrote this book with a Black girl as the main character. Her partners are White, Asian, and Black; they serve different goddesses, but their connection is built by the fates. This gets 5 stars because the spice is spicy but tasteful, and the action is compelling and kept me interested. I believe I read all 4 of these books in 2 weeks. The only issue is the next book doesn’t release until March. Check out the State of Grace series; they are available via Kindle Unlimited.

I had a hard time getting into this book; I usually enjoy a book that starts with a person finding out they have special powers, but this one was slow-moving. I also wanted the MC to catch on a little quicker. This book is fun, and I enjoyed listening to it, but I am not sure I am committed to listening to the series. If you want aged-up, magical romances with witches and ghosts, then I can definitely recommend “Witches Get Stuff Done” by Molly Harper
