Obviously, after you look at the title of this blog, you can understand that I am a reader; I want to share my favorite books of 2022, along with all other stats. I will try to put in a little blurb for each one. If anyone is reading this, I hope you take the time to check out each of these titles.

But first, here are the stats…

I choose my books based on my mood and my need for escapism. This is why you will not see a lot of non-fiction on my list. The books below are not listed in order of priority or preference. I loved each of them.

Rating: 5 out of 5.

I adored this book. It had childhood wonder, big scary corporation exploitation, and that great teenage dream I first identified while watching The Goonies. Stephen King is a gift, and I will always continue to read his works.

Rating: 4 out of 5.

If you love The Real Housewives and the secrets amongst the rich, this book is for you. This book is well constructed, and the story flows from varying perspectives. Also, if you get a chance, follow Jeneva Rose on Tiktok.

Rating: 4 out of 5.

I love John Marrs, but his work is traumatizing sometimes. This book is perfect, and I am only giving it 4 stars because I was emotionally invested, and John tore my heart out. This book is a part of the same world as The Minders and Passengers. Imagine being in a world where you could find your perfect match? I am here for that! This book gave me a glimpse at what technology can do to impact the world and what happens when that tech is intercepted and corrupted. I loved this book.

You want to drop everything and start your entire life over? The Last Flight is about precisely that. I loved this book. Read this now if you want to see two women escape their lives.

Rating: 3 out of 5.

Rules of Engagement is fantastic, but the action is a bit slow for me. That said, it still makes my list for 2022. This book is a spy thriller that is filled with intrigue and a bit of romance. You’ll love this book if you don’t mind waiting on the romance. One of the reasons I did not enjoy this book was the male character. I can’t recall his name, but I didn’t love how he staked ownership of the future romance. It felt icky.

You may be wondering why this section looks different? Well, I’m not that great at editing this site.

Rating: 5 out of 5.

This book was intense. The premise is fascinating. It takes a look at people who experience synesthesia, and it turns these people into secret intelligence agents. This book, The Minders is in the same world as Passengers and The One. If you love spy thrillers and anything with Serial Killers, you will love this one. I definitely recommend reading The One prior to reading this book.

Rating: 5 out of 5.

This book is excellent. What Lies Between Us is an onion, it has so many layers, and just when you think you know who the villain is, you are likely to be wrong. The ending is jarring, and I can’t stop thinking about it.

Rating: 4 out of 5.

Mediocre is excellent. I am a DEI consultant for leaders within the organization I work for. This book helped me understand the paradigm of white men in America.

Rating: 5 out of 5.

Do I really need to write another view of Verity? This book was perfect.

Rating: 5 out of 5.

This book is gritty as fuck. I love a good end of earth series, and Hell Divers paints a devastating picture of what life would be like if the earth is a wasteland and there were spaceship colonies that live in the orbit of the now-destroyed planet. The only way to get critical supplies is to dive down to the earth; with each dive, only a few survive.

Rating: 4 out of 5.

This book is full of spooky goodness. If you anthologies, you will love this book. The Grand Hotel is the perfect story if you want something on the creepy side without any real jump scares. Each story is written with just enough detail to keep you engrossed. I keep seeing this book listed under romance, and I cannot recall any of that.

Rating: 3 out of 5.

American Price is smutty AF, I have ranked it as one of my favorites because of how surprising the book was. I had difficulty suspending disbelief, which is why this was only rated 3 stars. If you are looking for a super spicy book, this is the book for you.

Rating: 5 out of 5.

We all know Tamaron Hall from her broadcast career. As the Wicked Watch is a great exploration of how the community changes when a killer is on the loose. This book also explores the career of a Black woman in a predominantly White industry. This book does an excellent job highlighting the Black community and the struggle that a community experiences when attempting to get people to care about the issues that arise in the community.

The Passengers is a book in the same world as The Minders and The One. This book rocked my world. Each passenger in this book is hiding a secret, and the secrets are WILD!
